Configure settings for the Queued publishing notification

There is a new publishing notification that you can configure for Notify when a publishing request is queued. This notification tells you if the job has been accepted by the system and placed in a queue to be processed.

By default:

  • New users have this feature checked by default and are notified when they send a component to be published.
  • Existing users don't have this new notification feature selected. This means that they are not notified in Inspire, email, or Slack if a job is queued when they send a component to be published.

There is a known issue with this new notification feature. Existing users can publish but will see an error message until they select at least one option for the new Notify when a publishing request is queued notification. For more information, refer to the following topic: Set notification preferences for publishing.

Inspire Release 2024.3.2.0

Enhancements to administration

See if a user account is locked on the User Management tab

Now, on the User Management tab, in the list of users, you can see that a user's account is locked if a red lock appears before the name. If you see a red lock icon before a user's name, the user cannot sign into Inspire.

For more details, read: Things you can do on the User management tab.

Export a list of users that includes columns for projects and reviews

Now, when you save a list of all users on the User Management tab in a comma-separated value (CSV) file, the CSV file contains a Projects column and a Reviews column.

For more details, read: Save a list of user accounts.

Enhancements to content authoring

Use an evaluation copy of GroupDocs.Viewer to view DocX files

Previously, Inspire only supported DOCX in a limited capacity when publishing.

Now, you can view the first two pages of a DOCX file. To learn more about GroupDocs, visit their website: GroupDocs.

The DOCX viewing feature is only for evaluation at this time.

For more details, read: Working with DOCX files.

Enhancements to component management

Use Find and Replace to search without updating content

Now, when you use the Find and Replace option to run a report, the notifications contain "report" so you know that the content of the components you are searching in did not change.

For more details, read:

See the History Label for changeset details

On the Changeset Details screen, when you select a component's Name, a History panel appears underneath with a list of changes made to the component.

  • Now you can see the Label information for each history record.

For more details, read: See the history for a changeset.

See the comment and label for the most recent version of a component

Previously, if you opened the Components browser and displayed the Comments column, you did not see the text. Now, if you open the Components browser and display the Comments column, you see the text.

Previously, the information displayed in the Name and Comment columns were for the last history record created where the content was changed. Now, the information you see in the Name and Comment columns are shown for the last history record regardless if the content was changed or not.

For more details, read: Manage versions in snapshots.

Choose to display referenced components when using Save As...

When you select the Save as a copy... option, you see a new screen where you can choose to either save all references or select only the ones you want to include in the new copy.

Enhancements to notification management

See file name changes for the Notification PDF

Previously, the name of the PDF you downloaded used the notification ID. For example: f9eac98c-343f-4e9e-926a-2b89dc265919.PDF

Now, the name of the PDF you download uses a format of: {Subject}_{DateTime}.PDF. For example: Completeness Report_9_17_2024 10_01_17 AM.PDF.

For more details, read: Download a PDF of the notification body.

See the entire list of warnings in a notification

Previously, if you had notifications turned on for translation, and you sent a large map to translation, if the notification about the status of the translation contained a long list of warnings or errors, the list was truncated with a link to see More...

The More... link could be clicked but nothing happened.

Now, if you have notifications turned on for translation, and you send a large map to translation, when you read the notification on the Notifications tab, you always see the entire list of warnings.

For more details, read: Send components to translation.

Enhancements to translation management

Cancel a translation and remove target files that weren't translated

Previously, if you cancel a translation job before a target file is translated, then Inspire attempts to send the wrong targets a second time.

Now, if you cancel a translation job before a target file is translated, then Inspire removes the target file.

For more details, read: Cancel part or all of a translation.

Remove all user locks before updating a subscription

Known behavior: if a user's seat has been locked, after editing the seat for any other user, the changes are never saved.

Before updating any seats in your organization's subscription, check the Locked column to see if any users are locked out. You must remove all user locks before you can save user updates to a subscription.

For more details, read: Edit subscription users.
