Enhancements to content authoring

Reference a file name with a special character in Oxygen

Previously, when adding a reference to a file name in Oxygen, you saw the following issues:

  • If a file name contains a special character like é, the reference does not open.
  • You see a 404 error.

Now, when adding a reference to a file name in Oxygen:

  • If a file name contains a special character like é, the reference is added.
  • You can open the referenced component in a new editor tab.

Enhancements to component management

Go to favorite components and folders from the Dashboard

The Dashboard tab gives you quick access to folders and components that you've recently opened.
  • You can now mark a folder or component as a favorite to see it listed on the Dashboard.
  • This lets you quickly go to it without having to open the Components tab and navigate the folder hierarchy to find it.

For more details, read:

Undo a changeset with one option

Previously, when you wanted to remove the changes from the current component that were made in a changeset, you could Undo it using two different options.

  • Undo (for changesets that do not contain a content change: Update, Review, Submit, Translate)
  • Undo content (for changesets that do contain a content change: Create, Move, Publish, Rename)

Now, if you want to remove the changes from the current component that were made in a changeset, there is only one Undo option. This action now does the following:

  • Update, Review, Submit, Translate. If the changeset you select contains a content change, the current component is overwritten by the most recent snapshot with a content change.
  • Create, Move, Publish, Rename. If the changeset you select does not contain a content change, the current component is overwritten by the previous snapshot.

For more details, read: See all changes to all components.

Sort by the Lock column on the Where Used tab

Previously, when you opened details about a component, you could not sort the data by the Lock column.

Now, when you click the Where Used tab, you can sort the data by the Lock column.

  • You can click the Lock column heading.
  • You see an up or down arrow to indicate if the list is sorted in ascending or descending order.

For more details, read: See where a component is used.

Search on the External References tab

Previously, if you wanted to see component details for external references:

  1. Click Components.
  2. In the Folders pane, navigate to the folder where you've saved the component.
  3. In the Components pane, select the component you want to open.
  4. Right-click a component, and then click Details...
  5. On the Components Details screen, click the External References tab.
  6. In Search, enter a URL or keyword, and click Search.

Results: The list remains unchanged.

Now, if you want to see component details for external references and search for a URL or keyword:

Results: The list shows only matches for your search criteria.

For more details, read: See details and relationships.

See the component name in the exported ZIP file name

Previously, when you export multiple files, the zip file has a name with the following format:

Export-{date/time}-{username}.zip

Now, when you export multiple files:

  • If you export files and don't include references (Export only component)
    • The zip file has a name with the following format:
      Export-{Component Name}-{date/time}-{username}.zip
    • {Component Name} is the first source component you select
    • The Component Name is truncated after 50 characters
  • If you export one or more files and include references (Export All References, Conrefs, Hrefs, Images)
    • The zip file has a name with the following format:
      Export-{Map Name}-{date/time}-{username}.zip
    • {MapName} is the map associated with the source component you select
    • The Map Name is truncated after 50 characters

Note that when you export only one file, a zip is not created, and the file is exported directly.

For more details, read: Export content from the components browser.

See the number of components you're restoring

Previously, when you restored a snapshot or changeset, the confirmation screen didn't tell you how many components would be restored.

Now, when you restore a changeset to the current component, you see the number of components being restored before you confirm your choice.

For more details, read: Restore a changeset to a current component.

Enhancements to project management

Search all columns in the Dashboard's My Assignments panel

Previously, on the Dashboard, in the My Assignments panel, you could only search for a project assignment’s Due Date.

Now, when you go the Dashboard tab to see project assignments, if you enter a keyword in Search, you can search in all columns:

  • Due Date
  • Created Date
  • Components
  • Description
  • State
  • Project
  • Workflow

For more details, read: See my assignments.

Use Advanced search to find project assignments

If you need a more powerful search than sorting and managing columns, you can use advanced search tools to create logic that asks a question about the data in your components.

  • You can enter a combination of unique words, phrases, and numbers.
  • You can use the And/Or logic operators and grouping features to find more exact matches.

Advanced searches give you more flexibility to find assignments that are an exact match and meet structural conditions.

For more details, read: Use advanced search tools to find an assignment.

Refresh Project panes for managing assignments and workflows

You can create assignments and workflows to get project work done.

Previously, after you opened a project, the Assignments and Workflow panes did not have a refresh button.

Now, after you open a project, you can refresh the Assignments and Workflow panes to see the most up-to-date information.

For more details, read: Manage project assignments.

Hover over project columns to see all the text

Previously, when you opened a project, in the Assignments and Workflow panes:

  • If there is a lot of data in a column, you only see a truncated version.
  • Even if you widen the column, you don't see all the text.

Now, if text inside a column is truncated, you can hover your cursor over the column to see a tooltip with all of the data.

For more details, read: Update an assignment.

Enhancements to review management

See Review Management data quicker and capture it all in the CSV file

Previously, when you wanted to save information about a review, you saw the following issues:

  • The Reviews Management tab takes a long time to open.
  • The CSV file saved from Review Management does not display:
    • Review components in the Components column.
    • Components in the Component Name column.
    • Locked components in the Locked By and Locked Date columns (missing or incorrect data).

Now, when you save information about a review,

  • The Reviews Management tab opens quicker.
  • The CSV file saved from Review Management displays all data.

For more details, read: Manage reviews.

Enhancements to publishing

Publishing zip files larger than 2GB creates a snapshot

Previously, when you publish zip files larger than 2GB:

  • The files successfully publish.
  • You don't see the corresponding snapshot when you select Details... and go to the History tab.

Now when you publish zip files larger than 2GB, you see the corresponding snapshot when you select Details... and go to the History tab.

For more details, read: Publish your content.

Enhancements to administration

Use a default profiling value

Administrators can update a profiling attribute and set one Valid Value as the default.

  • This feature lets users select a default value to content where no value is applied.
  • This lets the user suppress all other content with an actual value applied.

This Default Filter value is used by non-admins in the following places:

  • When editing or viewing a component in the Oxygen Editor, by clicking Filter, and opening the Filter Profiling Attributes screen.
  • When Publishing a component on the Filter Profiling Attributes screen.
  • When Translating a component on the Filter Profiling Attributes screen.

The user filtering the attributes can:

  • Leave the default value and quickly close the Filter Profiling Attributes screen.
  • Add other attributes to the default.
  • Clear the default selection and select a different value.
