Enhancements to content authoring

Use Oxygen 26 updates

Inspire is now integrated with Oxygen 26. Updates include improvements for inserting special characters, translations for Chinese static text, and tracked changes are more visible when renaming elements.

Enhancements to component management

Save a list of referenced components to a CSV file

From a source component, you can quickly select other components that are referenced without opening the source component and manually finding all the references. After using the Referenced components option, you can now save the list of reference components to a CSV if you want to use the data outside of Inspire.

For more details, read: Save a list of referenced components to a CSV file

Choose a time zone when saving information to a CSV

When you save information in Inspire to a CSV file you can now choose what time zone is used. You can choose to use your local time or UTC which is a time zone standard used as a basis for all time zones worldwide and does not change for Daylight Saving Time. The time zone you choose is used in the CSV file and the file name.

Import translation files only from the Translations Management tab

When you import files from the Components and Projects tabs, Inspire checks to see if the files are already used in an active translation job.

  • If the files you are importing are part of an active translation job, the entire import will fail even if some files are not part of an active translation job.
  • You also see an error message: You are trying to import files that are part of an active translation job. Use the "Import translation" action in the translation management tab instead.
  • You see one error for each file you are trying to import that is part of an active translation job. File ({fileName}) was found in translation job ({translation job id}).

You must import translation files directly from the Translations Management tab.

Export a map to a zip file named after the source component

Previously, when exporting a map with all references, the exported ZIP file is named after some random referenced component name rather than the source component name.

Now, when exporting a map with all references, the exported ZIP file is named after the source map component.

For more details, read: Export content from the components browser.

Enhancements to review management

Add comments in the new Component Discussions pane

Each component in a review now has its own Component Discussions pane. Select the component you want to discuss first, and then open the Collaboration panel, go to the Component Discussions pane, and add text.

Adding a comment outside of the Review editor is helpful when component has a Scope of Context Only. It is also helpful when there are too many comments in the component already. Text added to the Component Discussions pane is not shown in the review editor but can be added to a review report.

For more details, read: Add comments using the Component Discussions pane.

Add locked topics from a map in review

If you're reviewing a map component and you identify changes that need to be made in a referenced component, you can add it to the review. If the topic you're trying to add is locked or not accessible to read or write by all reviewers, the component is added to the review as Context Only.

You also see the following warning message: One or more reviewers do not possess necessary permissions to the component. Component is added to review as context only.

For more details, read: Add map topics to a review.

Enhancements to translation management

Use the See All option to get a complete list of all translation jobs

On the Translation Management tab, you see a list of translation jobs filtered by your role. Now, Translation Coordinators who are not administrators can use a See All option to get a list of all translation jobs in the organization no matter who created the translation request.

After you select the See All option, to see an updated list of jobs you must click Search. The See All option shows a list of translation jobs in all possible states.

Split large translation jobs sent to Project Director

If you're sending a large amount of files to Project Director for translation, you can have Inspire automatically analyze the files and create multiple submissions. The number of submissions Inspire creates is based on a Maximum Document value that an administrator can set. This value determines how Inspire splits up the files into multiple jobs by language.

  • If the number of source components is more than the Maximum Document value, Inspire creates a submission for each language.
  • If the number of source components multiplied by the number languages is more than the Maximum Document value, Inspire figures out how many languages can fit into one submission. Then Inspire creates submissions for each group of languages.
  • Each submission that is created includes a suffix of a dash and a number (-1, -2, -3, etc.) to help you identify the parts of the submission that was split up.

Enhancements to administration

Use a publishing configuration to import deliverables

Administrators can now select an option to automatically import published deliverables back into Inspire. This new option is set by creating or updating publish settings in Publish Configuration Management.
