Inspire Release 2025.2.2.0

Enhancements to content authoring

Use an updated version of the Oxygen editor

Inspire is currently integrated with Oxygen 27.1.0. This includes security improvements, new views, and new tools.

For more details, read: Oxygen Integration.

Enhancements to component management

Create a folder map asset report

You can generate and view a report to see details about all of the bookmap components stored in one folder. You can choose to include or exclude subfolders and folders for translations.

For more details, read: Create a folder asset report.

Use new Process types to filter changesets

In the Changesets module, on the Changesets tab, you can limit the records to see only changesets that occurred due to a specific Process type. Now you can select two new Process types: Merge and Merged. The Actions for the merge Processes types are Update. The Merge label identifies when a component is updated as a result of a merge process. The Merged label identifies when a component is created as a result from a merge process.

For more details, read: Filter changesets by selecting an Inspire Process.

Understand restrictions when forcing a deletion

You cannot force the deletion of a topic if it is referenced by a locked component. An administrator can request to delete a component that is referenced by other components and see a screen confirming the force delete. If the topic referencing the topic you are trying to delete is locked, the force delete won't be completed and the administrator sees an error. To force the deletion, you must unlock the component that references it first, and then try again.

For more details, read:

Use Oxygen to compare content to the current component

Previously, in the Components browser, after opening a component's Details, on the History tab you could compare an older version of a component with the most recently submitted changes. If you selected the older component and used the Options menu to select Compare content to recent component, a read-only viewer would open both components for a side-by-side comparison. This option has been removed from the Components browser. You can still perform this comparison in the Oxygen editor.

For more details, read: Compare updates in Oxygen.

Confirm deletions from the Selected Components panel

You can select multiple components to add them to the Selected Components panel. On this pane you select a Delete option. Before the Delete task completes, you now see a confirmation screen telling you how many components you are trying to delete and if you want to continue. You see this confirmation in both the Components browser and in projects.

For more details, read: Send a component to the Deleted Items folder.

Create an Access Control report for a folder

You can create a report that provides a list of the users who have access to a folder. The report contains information associated with the account in case you need to contact them. You can also see the last time the user logged in, and what level of permissions they have to the folder.

For more details, read: Create an access control report for a folder.

See notifications according to your Global and specific preferences

Previously, when you turned off Global notifications for email and Slack, and left only a few In-app notifications on, you still received all in-app notifications. For example, if you only turned on Publishing notifications for Completed, after submitting a publishing request you received Queued, Submitted, and Completed notifications. Now, you only receive Global and specific notifications when those options are selected in the Settings screen.

For more details, read: Change your notification preferences.

Enhancements to administration

Update the Binary option in a translation configuration

After you create a configuration to reuse a group of translation options repeatedly, you can update the configuration if you need to change the options or values. The option on the Update Translation Configuration screen previously named Include Binary now displays as Translate Binary.

For more details, read: Update a translation configuration.

Receive all notifications for the User Activity and User Access Control reports

Previously, when an administrator created a User Activity or a User Access Control report, the notification of completion was only seen in Inspire on-screen. Now when a user report is created, the administrator can receive a notification for the completed report in email and Slack. Notifications vary depending on how you configure the Everything Else notification preference in Settings.

For more details, read: Set notification preferences for everything else.

Permanently save changes to component types

Previously, if an administrator used the Advanced menu to select Component Type Configuration, they could change a value for the component type but the changes would not be permanently saved. Now, if an administrator makes changes to a component type, when they click Update, the changes are shown on the Component Type Configuration screen and are saved to the database.

For more details, read: Configure component types.
