Enhancements to content authoring

Allow Inspire to invite users to a shared editing session
In the Oxygen editor, using the Share session button creates a URL for an editing session, similar to a chat room.
  • You can copy and send the URL to the second Inspire user any way you want, such as in email or a chat application.
  • Now the second user can just click the link you send to join.
  • Now you can also choose to let Inspire notify the user for you.

Refresh links, Save, and Submit all at once
In the Oxygen editor, after you update a link or reference in a topic, you can easily refresh it to ensure the most up-to-date information is being displayed.
The Refresh Links option works for:
  • cross-references (xrefs) to existing content, files and websites
  • content references (conrefs)
  • content key references (conkeyres)

Now, whenever you refresh references, Inspire automatically:

  • Saves the changes locally
  • Submits the changes to the database
  • Reloads the content in the editor

Enhancements to component management

See new and updated information about component translation
To help you manage files and their connections, you can view information about a component from several tabs on the Component Details screen.
  • On the Translations tab, you can display a new column called Translation Job Id.
    • This column is hidden by default.
    • When you choose to show it, Translation Job Id is the first column in the grid.
    • This Id represents the translation job identifier assigned by Inspire.
  • On the Translations tab, you can see a new column State.
    • This column is shown by default.
    • The new column appears after Project and before Start Date.
    • States identify where the job is in its life cycle.
  • The Date Translated column has been renamed to Date Submitted.
    • This column is shown by default.
    • The new column appears after State and before Date Completed.
  • On the Translations tab, you can see a new column Date Completed.
    • This column is shown by default.
    • The new column appears at the end, after Date Submitted.

Prevent branched references
Components can be branched if you want to make a copy and maintain a relationship between the original and the new copy.
Now, when choosing which references in the source component to branch, you can prevent a component from being included in the new branch.
  • You do this by attaching a specific tag to the component.
  • Attaching the ExcludeFromBranch tag only prevents a reference from being branched and not the source.
  • The tag does not prevent a user from going to the Components browser and saving a component as a branch

Check for locked translated files when creating a Completeness Report
Before you publish a component or send it for translation, you can view a report to see if there are any errors or problems.
Now you can also view a report after sending files to translation to see if any are locked.
By default, all of the following checks are completed and in the report:
  • Components that are not approved
  • Components that are not signed
  • Components that are locked by system or by other user
  • Components that are locked to yourself
  • Target components that are locked
  • Components that are in Invalid state
  • Components that are Invalid XML
  • Components that contain Comments and Track Changes
