Enable quotes for translation projects
Queued jobs prepared for GlobalLink Enterprise can be sent out to get an estimate on the cost of translation work if an administrator configures the use of quotes. For the quote feature to function properly, you must configure both your GlobalLink Enterprise translation Project and your Inspire Translation Integration Method and Project. After you create this connection, translation coordinators in Inspire can create a translation job that both Inspire and GlobalLink can process so that the requested translation work can be successfully completed.
To allow an Inspire translation coordinator to send a quote request to GlobalLink Enterprise, translation project information must exist in both applications.
In GlobalLink Enterprise:
- Create or update a Translation Project: The options you configure in GlobalLink Enterprise are available to the translation coordinator when creating the translation job in Inspire.
- Quotes: If enabled, when Inspire sends the quote request, GlobalLink does not return an error, and the app starts the quote process in GlobalLink to contact project managers and vendors to provide the cost estimate.
- Vendors: If the quote request is for a language that is configured in the GlobalLink Enterprise translation project, an estimate can be provided. Otherwise, an error is returned if there is no vendor that works in the requested Target language.

In Inspire:
- Create or update a Translation Integration Method: This lets Inspire communicate with GlobalLink Enterprise (formerly known as Project Director) about the translation job using a web service.
You must select the Active checkbox.
- Authenticate the integration method: This action allows Inspire to contact GlobalLink Enterprise using the OAuth information you supply. Authentication verifies Inspire's identity, and authorization determines Inspire's access rights to GlobalLink Enterprise information.
- Enable the Request Quote option: When you edit a translation integration method that used PD Rest APIs, on the second page there is a checkbox you must select called Request Quote.
- Create or update a Translation Project: The translation project in Inspire must use the integration method that allows quotes.
When the translation coordinator creates a translation job to be sent to GlobalLink Enterprise:
- The coordinator must select a Translation Project that allows the quote feature to be used.
- The coordinator must select a Source and Target language pair that is provided by one of the vendors associated with the Translation Project in GlobalLink.
After a translation coordinator requests an estimate, Inspire sends a request to GlobalLink Enterprise where a project manager or vendor provides the lines items for each charge and a total estimate. The translation coordinator must approve all quotes before translation work begins. If the translation coordinator doesn't want to approve the quotes, they must cancel the translation job.
