Manage module access
GlobalLink Vasont Inspire has a modular architecture. As an administrator, you can manage access to the modules from the Security menu.
The list of available modules is defined by your Inspire configuration and license agreement. Contact your support team for more information by sending email to GlobalLinkCCMS-Support@TransPerfect.com.
The architecture
The modular architecture provides a way to grant privileges to specific features or functionality of Inspire.
- You can add roles or users and set permissions for the role or user for a specific module. The permissions determine which actions a role or user can perform in the module.
- You can remove access for a role or user for a specific module.
- You can change permissions granted to a role or user for a specific module.
- You can manage additional properties that grant additional privileges or permissions to the module.
- You can run a report that captures all the roles associated with each module. The report is downloaded as a CSV file and can be opened in Microsoft Excel.
Granting permissions to modules
Setting module access permission for a specific role or user determines the menus that appear on the Inspire title bar, or top menu.
Users assigned to roles that do not have access to modules, such as Collaborative Review, Projects, and Content Browser, will not see these options in the top menu bar. If users are assigned to roles that have access to these modules, they will see the corresponding menu options for the modules.
For example:
- If a role has access to the Content Browser module, the
Components menu appears on the top title bar for users assigned to that role.
- If the role does not have access to the Content Browser module, the Components menu does not appear on the title bar.
You can now see more details about a user or role when you edit module permissions.
- On the Permissions tab, use a new details panel to see information such as Name, Type, and Memberships of the user or role that has access to the module.
- Select a user or role to review the details in the new panel on the right. You can see information such as Name, Type, and Memberships of the user or role that has access to the module. You must select a user or role to display the details in the new panel on the right.
- Select the new Properties tab to see what granular tasks if any you can grant to a user or role.
- For example, if you open the Update module access screen for the Projects module, on the Properties tab you can grant access to the can_initiate_assignment task.
- Not all modules have additional Properties you can assign.
- Select the new Users tab to display a list of users with access to the module.
- This list is read-only.
- You can add users either through a role or as an individual user.
- See more information when you export Module Access data to a CSV file:
- See a new column for Users that lists the users assigned to the module.
- See a new column for Roles that lists the roles assigned to the module.
