Manage permissions

GL Vasont Inspire provides role-based permissions to access content and to perform actions on the content. A GL Vasont Inspire administrator manages permissions.

Consider the following guidelines to manage permissions for a component folder.

• You can add roles and set permissions for the new role for a specific folder.
• You can add users and set permissions for the new user for a specific folder.
• You can remove access for a role or user for a specific folder.
• You can change permissions granted to a role or user for a specific folder.
• Permissions can be inherited from a parent folder.

GL Vasont Inspire has predefined permissions. You cannot add or remove permissions. You can set the following permissions:

Read

Roles or users granted this permission can open components in the XML authoring tool in read-only mode. Users cannot make changes to the content.

Create

Roles or users granted this permission can create components.

Update

Roles or users granted this permission can open components in the XML authoring tool and make changes to the content.

Delete

Roles or users granted this permission can delete components from the system.

Rename

Roles or users granted this permission can change the component name.

Set permissions

Roles or users granted this permission can set permissions for components within the selected folder.
