Allow users to add a map component to a review

As an Inspire administrator, you can set permissions to grant or deny users and roles access to a specific module. By default, only users with administrator permissions have the option to Add a map component to a review in progress. If you want to grant a non-administrator user these permissions, you can give them permission on Module Access Management by editing the Collaborative Review module properties.

Tips and tricks

  • To allow the user to add a map component from the Review Editor, they must be added to both of the following Collaborative Review module properties:
    • can_add_component_to_review

    • can_add_component_to_review_from_map

  • The review must be in a State of Reviewing.
  • The map containing the component must be included in the review.
  • If you add a user to the can_add_component_to_review_from_map property:

A user with these permissions can add a component to the review by:

    • On the Reviews Management screen, selecting a review with a State of Reviewing, and using the Options menu to select Open details...
    • Opening a review in the Review Editor, selecting the map component to review, and using the Structure panel to access the right-click option for Add to Review.

On the Select Users screen, if the list is large or you only want to see a certain type of user, you can narrow the list in the following ways:

    • To see all users sorted by Name, Security Type, or User Type, click the column heading and then click the grey arrow. To sort by Name or User Type you can also use the Sort By drop-down box.
    • By default, names with a User Type of Support are not included in the list. To see these users, select the Include support users option.
  6. After you finish selecting users or roles, click Select.
    Results:
    • You see your selection(s) added to the Users/Roles list.
    • You return to the Permissions tab of the Update Module Access Permissions screen.
  7. Repeat steps 4-6 for the can_add_component_to_review_from_map property.
  8. On the Update Module Access Permissions screen, click Save.
    Results:
    • You are returned to Module Access Management screen.
    • Any users whose access you changed must log out and back in to see the changes.
