View component details

To find out more information about a component, such as who created it and when, you can access the Component Details screen.

A content owner or administrator can set permissions to deny access to components or folders. If your permissions to content has been blocked and you are not an administrator, you cannot use the Details option in a project's Content pane.

The preview image you see in the top right corner of the screen can vary depending on whether your administrator configures Inspire to use thumbnails or not.

  • If the thumbnail feature is enabled:
    • In the preview, you see all images as a thumbnail.
    • When you double-click the thumbnail, you see the image in its high resolution version.
  • If the thumbnail feature is not enabled:
    • In the preview, you see all images under 2 MB in the high-resolution.
    • Images 2 MB and larger you see as a thumbnail.
    • When you double-click the thumbnail, you see the image in its high resolution version.

To view component details:

  1. To open details for a component in the browser:
    1. Click Components.
    2. In the Folders pane, navigate to the folder where you've saved the component.
  2. To open details for a component in a project:
    1. Click Projects.
    2. To open one project, select the project and double-click it.
  3. Right-click the component and select Details...

    The Details tab includes the following information:

  4. To view tags assigned to the component or to add or remove tags, click the Tags list.
  5. To save changes made to tag details, click Save.
  6. Optionally, to view other details that help you manage this component:
    • To see components that have a relationship of attachment to the component, select the Attachments tab.
    • To see components referenced by the selected component, select the References tab.
    • To see the links to content from a resource available on the internet, select the External References tab.
    • To see components that reference the selected component, select the Where used tab.
    • To see projects that reference the selected component, select the Projects tab.
    • To see components created as a branch from the selected component, select the Branches tab.
    • To see properties assigned to the selected component, such as a template, select the Properties tab.
    • To see components created as translations from the selected component, select the Translations tab.
    • To see components historical changes to the component, select the History tab.
  7. To close the Component Details screen, click Cancel.
