Enhancements to component management

Approve a component and attach an electronic signature

You can now require a user to attach their electronic signature when approving a component. This is helpful if you must comply with the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA's) current thinking regarding the scope and application of part 11 of Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations; Electronic Records; Electronic Signatures (21 CFR Part 11).

For more details, read Approve or unapprove a comment.

See an enhanced notification when you repair an invalid component relationship

When a reference to another component is broken or invalid, you can use a tool to repair the relationship in a single click. After the process finishes you receive a notification inside Inspire and by email sent to the address associated with your Inspire account.

When Inspire sends a notification, it now includes the title and file name of the component that was repaired.

For more details, read Auto-repair an invalid component relationship.

Use the Outline pane to insert an XInclude link

This feature is for use with DocBook files only and won't work with DITA topics.

You can divide your content up into many individual valid file modules, and use XInclude links to assemble them into larger valid documents. In the Oxygen Editor, you can use the Editor pane to insert an XInclude link.

Now you can also use the Outline pane to insert an XInclude link.

For more details, read any of the following:

Automatically see a new or renamed folder

After creating or renaming a folder, Inspire refreshes the Folders pane but doesn't show you the new or updated folder.

Enhancements to translation management

Generate a report on a translation job

You can verify which components are sent to and returned from a translation vendor by creating a report on the translation job.

  • The report lists all components included in the job.
  • You can access the report from your email or the Notifications tab.
  • You can't configure what is included in the report, but you can use links in the report to open the components included in the job.

For more details, read Generate a report on a translation job.

Reuse translated images across language codes

You can configure a language to allow references to images translated into other languages.

To override the image language:

  1. The administrator must configure the language and set the image override.
  2. Then, a translation coordinator can add an image translated into a language that is different from the other source components in the job.
