Add a GlobalLink Portal integration method
As an administrator, you can create a translation integration method called GlobalLink Portal to let translation coordinators know that Inspire communicates with an external application called GlobalLink Enterprise (formerly known as Project Director) when content is ready to be translated. In this method you'll configure Inspire to use the GlobalLink Portal product to submit and retrieve translations to GlobalLink Enterprise.
GlobalLink Portal was formerly known as GlobalLink Transport.
GlobalLink Portal automates everything from project creation to delivery. With GlobalLink Portal, it's easy to create, submit, track, approve, review, download, and archive translation projects. In addition, GlobalLink Portal provides project managers with a platform to efficiently manage schedules, track efforts across projects, and give executive decision makers sophisticated, customizable dashboards. To learn more about GlobalLink Portal, go to GobalLink's site for Modules.
Tips and tricks
You must be an Administrator to work with translation integration methods.
- An advantage to using GlobalLink Portal is that if a vendor finds errors in a file, you can log in and Resend corrected files using GlobalLink Portal. This allows you to correct files and resend them without having to create a new translation project. If you do want to create a new translation project you can do that in Inspire.
- If you want to manually export a zip file of the translation job components and then send the zip file yourself to the translation vendor, follow the steps in Add a manual integration method.
- If you want to integrate with GlobalLink Enterprise using the GlobalLink Connect API, follow the steps in Add a GlobalLink Connect integration method.
- If you want to integrate with GlobalLink Enterprise using the REST API (web service), follow the steps in Add a GlobalLink Rest API integration method.
For GlobalLink RestAPIs, you can only Authenticate your integration and Edit the configuration after you create the method. However, for GlobalLink Portal integrations, these options aren't necessary and can't be used.
