Check Spelling

When you're working on a document in the Oxygen-based editor, by default your text is automatically checked as you type. You can also manually check a word using a toolbar option, and turn on or off automatic spell check.

Tips and tricks

Words that aren't spelled correctly for the language used in the component are underlined in red. When you create a component you select the language and the corresponding language dictionary is used to check spelling.

An Administrator can change the language. If the content doesn't display in the correct language, an Administrator can change it.

To see the language selected for the component, follow the steps in View component details.

To check spelling:

In the editor, select the text you want to check.
On the toolbar, click the spell check icon or use the keyboard shortcut F7.
To correct a misspelled word, right-click it and then select the correct spelling.
To turn automatic spell check on or off, click the vertical dot menu , select Preferences, and then select or clear the option for Enable automatic spelling.
