Search changesets by dates

You can go to the Changesets module to see an ongoing record of all changes made to every component in your instance of Inspire. As this is a list of all changes made on a daily basis, it can be very long. To find the changes you're looking for, you can search within a specific date range on both the Changesets and Histories tabs.

You can only search for a date, and cannot narrow the search by time. This allows you to find the results you need for the correct day. Then you can look at the Changeset Date for the timestamp as it is used in your specific time zone.

To access the Changesets module, you must have one of the following:

  • Administrator permissions
  • Changesets module permissions

Administrators can grant access to the Changesets module by following the steps in Allow non-Admin users to work with changesets.

Tips and tricks

To search for changesets in a specific date range:

  1. In the top menu, click Changesets.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • To find changes to a group of components, stay on the Changesets tab.
    • To find changes to a specific component, select the Histories tab.
  3. In From, click the calendar icon and select a starting date.
  4. To select an end date, in To, click the calendar icon and select a date that is later than the From date.
  5. Optionally, you can apply the following filters:
    • To see all changes made for a specific user action, select an option in Action.
    • To see all changes made for a specific Inspire process, select an option in Process Type.
    • To see only changesets where the Action is Delete, select Show Deleted.
  6. Click Search search_button.
  7. Optionally, to save the list of changes that match the search as a CSV file:
    1. Click Save as CSV ExportCSV.
    2. To choose what time zone is used, on the Convert time confirmation screen, select one of the following:

You see the date displayed in the header of the CSV as: All date/times are shown in {timezone} or UTC.

UTC is a time zone standard used as a basis for all time zones worldwide. It is a constant time scale and does not change for Daylight Saving Time.

      • To use your local time, click Yes.
      • To use UTC time, click No

Keep the following issues in mind:

      • The maximum amount of data that can be saved to a CSV is 200 changesets.

      • You can filter the list by dates to limit the number of changesets.

      • If you search, Inspire now saves only your search results to the CSV file. To see all changeset records, clear your search.
      • If you filter the list, Inspire now saves only your filtered results to the CSV file. To see all changeset records, clear your search.
      • When saving search results on the Changesets tab:

        • The Components column is not included in the CSV file.

        • A new column called DisplayNames has been added to the CSV file. It lists the component names in the changeset.
      • You can use the Options menu to access the Go To option. This opens the Components browser and highlights the component in the folder where it's stored.
