Enhancements to content authoring

Manage locks and approvals for a map reference in Oxygen

When using Oxygen to work on a map, you can go to the left Outline panel to see if a reference is locked. If you want to open a locked topic to edit the content, you can use the Oxygen Outline panel to right-click the topic and Unlock it. When finished with your changes, you can use the Oxygen Outline panel to lock it again. You can also use the Oxygen Outline panel to unapprove or approve a map reference. These options are only available when you are editing a map.

Enhancements to component management

Force a folder to be deleted

When deleting a folder, if there are relationships to components outside the folder, Inspire previously gave you an error and would not allow you to proceed. Now you will only see a warning, and if necessary, you can select OK to proceed or Cancel. If you select OK, the folder and its contents are deleted and invalid relationships may be created for the components that exist outside the folder being deleted. Otherwise, you can select Cancel to manually remove the relationships yourself before deleting the folder. If you delete a folder where all relationships are between components inside the folder being deleted, you only see a confirmation message before the folder is deleted.

For more details, read: Delete a folder

Manage branches in List View easier

In the Branch Management tool, you can select List View to see branch data organized as a collection of items stacked vertically in a single column. Now branches are shown below each component in a sub-grid. There is a new solid light-blue border around the entire sub-grid so that it is easy to see the branch information. If there are related branches for a reference, you can now use an arrow to show or hide the sub-grid. You can also use the new See All checkbox to show or hide all sub-grids for related branches. If there are no branches for a reference, the expand arrow is hidden.

For more details, read: Work in the list view.

Use advanced search to find updates in changeset records

If you open the Changesets module, expand Advanced search, and use a query where Field = Action, select any operator, and Value = Update, you can see the user who made the change, the type of change, and the changed component's details. Previously, you could repeat this query where Value = UpdateWithContent, but this value has been removed because it returns the same results as Value = Update.

For more details, read: Find Changeset actions using advanced search.

Restore a component to its original draft/approved lock state

Previously, if an administrator set the LockForApprove feature to True, when you restored a component that was in the Draft state, after the process finished the component was restored but it was locked with an Approved (green) system lock. Now, when you restore a component that was in the Draft state when the snapshot was made, after the process finishes the component is restored and is in the same Draft state. Now Inspire only applies the Approved lock when restoring a history record that was Approved at the time the snapshot was made.

For more details, read: Restore a component from a snapshot.

Enhancements to translation management

Specify additional coordinators to receive translation notifications

Administrators can open the Administration module, select Translation settings, and then Translation project management to see a list of translation project settings. When creating a new project or updating an existing one, an administrator can now use a new Notifications tab. On this new tab an admin can add or remove translation coordinators to a list of users who will be notified when a translation job is created, completed, failed, or updated in any other way. The translation project notification settings created by an admin are only used when a translation coordinator creates a translation job and on the Translate Component screen selects those project settings in the Translation Project field.

For more details, read:

See the Job ID added to the Submission Name

On the Translate Component screen, when you select a Translation Project that uses GlobalLink Enterprise integration, you can select the Prepend Translation Job Id to Submission Name option. Previously, when you selected Translate, the submission name was created but was not prepended with the Translation Job ID. Now, when you select Translate, the submission name is created with a prefix using the Translation Job ID.

For more details, read: Send one component to translation.

Enhancements to projects

See a new style used in Global Overdue Notifications

When you're working with a project or a review, and you create an assignment or task with a due date, you can get a notification when the due date is approaching and if it has passed and is late. That notification now begins with a greeting that uses the first name on the user account, instead of the user's email address. The list of overdue notices is now grouped by the following categories: Overdue Projects, Overdue Project Assignments, Overdue Reviews in Resolving Phase, Overdue Reviews in Reviewing Phase. You can expand and collapse each category for easier reading. You can also now click a link to open a project, project assignment, or review. All notifications now include a summary of the overdue items, and the salutation of "Thank you" has been removed.

For more details, read: Set overdue global notification preferences.
