Restore content in Inspire

While you're working in Inspire, you may need to recover data that has been deleted or changed incorrectly.

In Inspire, you can bring content back to its original or former state in the following ways:

Return content that has been sent to the Deleted Items folder.

  • After you delete a component it's stored in the Deleted Items folder until you permanently delete it.
  • If you haven't permanently deleted a component yet, you can restore it to it's original folder.
  • Follow the steps in Restore deleted components.

Find a Changeset record that includes the deletion of a component and restore it.

  • On the Changesets tab you can see an ongoing record of all changes made to the components in your instance of Inspire. If you want to overwrite the current component with the content stored in a changeset in the list, you can Restore it.
  • Follow the steps in Restore a changeset to a current component

Bring back content from a previous version of a component that Inspire has stored in a Snapshot.

  • Restore component (Source component ONLY)—Inspire replaces ONLY the component. The current version of the component is replaced with the one you're restoring.

  • Restore snapshot (Source component + referenced content)—Inspire restores the source component and all referenced content included in the snapshot.

    • This action causes more than the source component to be replaced.
    • All current referenced content is replaced with the version of the referenced content in the snapshot you're restoring.
    • Follow the steps in Restore a snapshot.
