Edit a comment

When you're working with other users to develop content in the Oxygen-based editor, you can't edit someone else's comment, but you can edit your own.

Tips and tricks:

  • If you want to suggest changes to another user's comment, you can Reply to a comment.
  • If you're working in a review, you cannot delete other user's comments.
  • These steps explain how to use comments in a component. You can also use comments in Reviews.
  • There are no indicators that you've edited your comment, other than the text is updated.
  • All comments and replies are shown in review reports, along with the name of the user who added them.

To edit your own a comment:

  1. In Inspire, go to Components.
  2. Navigate to the DITA topic where you want to edit a comment.
  3. Right-click the topic and select Edit ...
  4. If not already open, click the right side panel control .
  5. To see the Review pane, click the Review icon .
    In the Review pane you'll see all comments for this document.
  6. Click a comment you added and want to edit.
  7. In the comment's box, at the bottom, click Edit .
    You can also use the editor's toolbar at the top of the screen to click Edit comment .
  8. On the Edit Comment screen, update your text, and then click OK.
  9. To save your changes, do one of the following:
    • To save your changes locally and keep working in the editor, click Save .
    • To save your changes to the Inspire database and close the editor, click Save and Submit .
