Remove a component from a review

When a review is in a State of Reviewing or Resolving, you can update the settings. You can remove components from a review. If a review is in a State of Cancelled or Completed, you can only view the settings.

Any components you remove are unlocked and any comments and changes are not saved.

  • If enabled, reviewers receive an email notification that the component was removed from the review and is no longer available for comments or changes.
  • You can't remove all components from a review but you can cancel the review instead.

If you remove an unlocked component from a review, and the component has one or more attachments:

  • Inspire automatically removes the attached components from the review also.
  • The attached component is also unlocked.

To remove a component from a review:

  1. Click Reviews.
  2. On the Reviews Management tab, in the list of reviews, select the review, right-click the row, and then select Open details.
    You can also access this option by clicking the Options menu and selecting Open details.
  3. Optionally, on the Update Review screen, in the Components list, you can open the component to make sure it's the one you want.

    1. Select the Options menu and then Go To.
    2. This option opens the Components browser (if not already opened) and selects the component.
    3. To see the contents, use the Preview panel or double-click the component to open it.
  4. In the Components list, select the component's Options menu, and select Remove.
    Any comments or changes made since the review started are lost.

    If you remove an unlocked component from a review, and the component has one or more attachments:

    • Inspire automatically removes the attached components from the review.
    • The attached component is also unlocked.
  5. On the Update Review screen, click Update.
    Results:
    • You receive a notification that Inspire has updated the review.

    If you had the review open, you must close it to see the components removed.
