Create an XML link type

As an administrator you can configure component relationships in the system using XML link types.

Important: Before you can create an XML link type, make sure you have defined relationship elements and relationship attributes.
  1. From the Administration menu, select Advanced Settings, then XML Link Type Management.
  2. On the XML Link Type Management tab, click Create.
  3. In the Create XML Link Type Configuration dialog, complete the following information:
    1. In the Name box, type a name for the new link type. The maximum length for the name is 50 characters.
    2. From the Link Method list, select a link method.
    3. From the Source Attribute list, select an attribute.
    4. From the optional Target Attribute list, select an attribute.
    5. From the Schema Standard list, select a schema standard.
  4. After you complete the information, click Save to create the XML link type, or click Cancel to close the Create XML Link Type Configuration dialog without creating an XML link type.

The new XML link type appears in the XML Link Type list of the Relation Configuration dialogs.
