View a map's topic references

When you're organizing topics into a map's hierarchy, you can see the topic Filename for each entry. The Filename includes the topic title and the ID. This is the default view and is useful if you are working only with map references and the hierarchy.

Tips and tricks

You can change the content you see in a map in other ways:

To view topic references in a map:

  1. Click Components.
  2. On the Folders pane, navigate to the map that you update.
  3. On the Components pane, right-click the map component and then select Edit ...
    You can also open the map by:
    • Double-clicking
    • Clicking Action_Menu the Options menu, and then selecting Edit ...
  4. At the top of the editing pane on the toolbar, select the View menu button and then select View Topic References.
    If you select View Topic References and leave it on that mode when you save or close the map, the next time you open it, all the references in the map are expanded for you.
  5. To save any changes and close the map, in the toolbar, click the Save and Submit icon .
