Rerun a publishing job

If you want to quickly republish content, you can access an option in Publish Server to submit a request. This option saves you time so that you don't have to go back into Inspire, find the same components, and choose the same publishing options.

You can choose to republish content from a job that succeeded or failed. However, don't use this option if:

  • The job failed and you need to correct some issues first.
  • You want to use different publishing options.

Tips and tricks

  • The Re-Run publish option is intended to help you test plugin updates that were loaded after a job was run. You can use this option to see the changes against a job with data already exported.
  • The Re-Run publish option does NOT re-export the data from Inspire.
  • The Re-Run publish option uses the data already pulled for the original job.
  • The Re-Run publish option emails the original user who submitted the job. You can find the original user in the component's history.

To rerun a publishing job:

  1. On the dashboard, find the job with the content you want to republish and select it.
  2. At the end of the row, click Re-run publish .
  3. On the Re-Run Publish Job dialog, click Yes.
  4. On the dashboard, click Refresh .
An administrator can re-run any user's publishing job. If an administrator re-runs a job, the user who originally requested the publication receives notification of the job's success or failure.
