View an attribute

When you're working on a document in the Oxygen-based editor, you can see how an element is configured by looking at the attributes that are applied to it.

To view an attribute:

  1. In the editor pane, put your cursor inside the element whose attributes you want to view.
  2. To view an attribute, do any of the following:
    • Use a keyboard shortcut. Press Alt+Enter.
    • Use the right-click menu. Select Edit Attributes...
    • Use the right-side panel. Click Attributes .

      If the right-side panel isn't open, click the left arrow .

  3. In Attribute, you can see the name of the attribute that is being defined. For example, Align.
  4. In Value, you can see how the attribute is being defined. For example, for Align, it can have a value of center.
  5. If you want to add an attribute, follow the steps in Add an attribute.
  6. To close the right-side pane, click the right arrow .
If you're comfortable reading XML code, you can also see attribute information directly in the editor pane when you show tags. You must use the Full tags with attributes option.
