Rename a folder

You can change a folder's name in the Components browser if necessary. Renaming a folder moves it to the correct place in the alphabetized hierarchy according to its name. You can rename a folder using the Options menu or the right-click option.

Root and child folders. The method is the same whether you're renaming a root (parent) or component (child) folder.

Refreshing folders

There are two ways to refresh the folder list:
  • Refresh all folders—To update the entire folder hierarchy, go to the Folders toolbar and select ReadOnly_Refresh the Refresh (all) option.
  • Refresh one folder—To refresh the data for one folder only, select the folder, click the Options menu, and select Refresh. Inspire only refreshes the selected folder and shows only the first level of sub-folders and components it contains.

Rename a folder using the Options menu

  1. Click Components.
  2. In the Folders pane, select the folder that you want to rename.
  3. Click the folder's Options menu, and select Rename.
  4. In the label box next to the folder icon, do one of the following:
    • Delete the old name and enter a new one. Press Enter.
    • Edit the existing name. Press Enter.
    Inspire refreshes the folder hierarchy.
    • The renamed folder is highlighted.
    • The renamed folder displays in the correct place in the alphabetized hierarchy according to its name.

Rename a folder using the right-click menu

  1. Click Components.
  2. In the Folders pane, select the folder that you want to rename.
  3. Right-click the folder, and select Rename.
  4. In the label box next to the folder icon, delete the old name and enter a new own or edit the existing name, and press Enter.
    Inspire refreshes the folder hierarchy.
    • The new folder is highlighted.
    • The new folder displays in the correct place in the alphabetized hierarchy according to its name.
