Creating separate translation submissions
When you select multiple files to send to translation at the same time, you can choose to create one job that contains multiple files or a separate translation submission job for each file. For example, if you select five maps and go to the Selected Components panel, you can select the Translation option and you can specify if you want to send them all in one translation job or split them up.
Project Director has been renamed to GlobalLink Enterprise.
If you are sending a large amount of files to GlobalLink Enterprise for translation, you can use the following procedure to split up the files into multiple jobs by language:
- Set a maximum value of files per job. In Inspire, administrators can open the GlobalLink Enterprise Configuration and set a Maximum Document value.
- Send source components to GlobalLink Enterprise for translation. After determining how many topics there are for each target language, Inspire uses the Maximum Document value to calculate how many languages can fit into a submission.
When creating a translation request with a large number of files, you do not need to select an option or set any special value. If an administrator sets a Maximum Document value, Inspire analyzes your job automatically and splits it if necessary.
- Inspire automatically creates multiple submissions. Each submission that is created includes a prefix of a dash and a number (-1, -2, -3, etc.) to help you identify that the submission was split up.

The option to create separate jobs after you select multiple files is only available from the Selected Components panel. If you create a translation from the Translations tab, you won't have the option to create separate jobs for each file.
After you select the files you want to translate:
- On the Selected Components panel, select
Translate.
You are asked if you want to create one or multiple translation jobs.
If you select Yes:
- The Translate component screen opens.
- You fill out the information on this screen once for all separate jobs.
This means all files in the separate jobs need to have the same requirements, such as the target language(s), due dates, export configuration, and translation project.
- After you click Translate:
- Each job is named differently based on the name of the source component.
- Except for the name and component, all separate jobs share the same submission details.
- Multiple translation jobs are created. One job per selected file.
- You receive a notification for each job separately.
If you select No:
- The Translate component screen opens.
- You fill out the information on this screen once for all files in the one job.
This means all files in the same job need to have the same requirements, such as the target language(s), due dates, export configuration, and translation project.
- After you click Translate:
- The job is named using the first component listed.
- One translation job is created that contains all files selected.
- You receive one notification for the job.
