Copy and paste an external image

When working with images in the Oxygen-based editor, you can copy an image directly from your computer into a topic you're editing. Since the image doesn't exist in Inspire yet, the image is saved in the same folder as the component that you paste it into.

You can't copy and paste other binaries, such as PDFs. Although you can do many of the same things with a PDF file that you can with an image, copy and paste is not one of them. To add a PDF file to a topic, you must import it first and then insert it. Follow the steps in Insert a PDF file into a topic.

External image options. There are a few different ways you can get an external image into a topic.

To copy and paste an image into a document:

  1. In the Components browser, double-click the component that you want to add an image to.
  2. Minimize the Inspire screen so that you can see your desktop.
  3. From a local folder or an image editor, select the image that you want to add to the Oxygen topic.

    • JPG, JPEG
    • PNG
