Change how an entire table looks
When you're working on a document in the Oxygen-based editor, after you create a table you can modify any aspect of the table's properties, such as text alignment, table separators and frames.
- Put your cursor in the table you want to modify.
- In the toolbar, click the table menu icon
and then select Customize display properties.
- On the Customize display properties dialog, select the Table tab.
- To set the placement of text in all table cells, in Horizontal alignment, select an option.
- If some cells are already set to different values, you can choose <preserve> to keep those settings.
- If you don't want to specify any kind of alignment for table cells (and don't want to use this attribute in the table XML), you can choose <not set>.
- Otherwise, choose from the standard settings of left, right, justify, or char(acter).
- To add a border between all columns, in Column separator, choose 1. To add a different border, select another option.
- If you want to make sure no borders are used between all columns in the table, select 0.
- If some cells are already have a border, choose <preserve> to keep those borders intact.
- If you don't want to specify any kind of column border for table cells (and don't want to include this attribute in the table XML), you can choose <not set>.
- To add a border between all rows, in Row separator, choose 1. To add a different border, select another option.
- If you want to make sure no borders are used between all rows in the table, select 0.
- If some cells are already have a border, you can choose <preserve> to keep those borders intact.
- If you don't want to specify any kind of row border for table cells (and don't want to include this attribute in the table XML), you can choose <not set>.
- To add a border around the entire table, in Frame, choose all. To add a different border, select another option.
- You can customize how you want the border to look by using the other options of top, topbot, bottom, and sides. Use the Preview pane on the right side to see how the frame will look.
- If you want to make sure no borders are used around the table, select none.
- If some cells are already have a border, you can choose <preserve> to keep those borders intact.
- If you don't want to specify any kind of frame for table (and don't include this attribute in the table XML), you can choose <not set>.
- To save your table formatting changes, on the Customize display properties dialog, click OK.
- To save your changes to the document, in the toolbar, click Save.
