When you're organizing topics into a map's hierarchy, you can add images that are necessary for your stylesheets.
You can also add a PDF file to a map in the same way you add an image. For more details, read Add a PDF image to a map.

To add an image to a map:
-
Click
Components.
-
In the Folders pane, navigate to the map that you want to update.
-
On the Components pane, right-click the map component and then select Edit...
-
In the editor, place your cursor where you want to insert an image reference.

By default, you see a
Display mode of
Topic titles.
- You can go to the toolbar and select
the Display mode option to change the view.
- If you select View Topic References and leave it on that mode when you save or close the map, the next time you open it, all the references in the map are expanded for you.
- If you select View Topic Content and leave it on that mode when you save or close the map, the next time you open it all the references in the map are collapsed due to memory and performance concerns.
-
Click
Insert an image.

You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+I.
-
On the Select Component dialog, in Folders, navigate to the image file you want to reference, select the file, and then click Select.

Inspire automatically opens the last folder you used to insert a link or image.
-
In the toolbar, do one of the following:
- To save your changes locally and keep working, click
Save .
- To save your changes to the database and close the map, click
Save and Submit.
